Some tips for going solo
Let someone know your planned route and always carry some form of identification with a emergency contact number on it
Bring plenty of food and water
Bring a mask and money in case you need to go into a Casey's. (Pro tip: Put the mask in a ziplock bag to keep it sweat free)
Make sure you have a tube and tools to fix a flat
Charge up your lights and use them
Wear your helmet, always!
Follow the rules of the road, this ain't a real race, cars will run you over
This is an unmarked course. Load the route or bring a cue sheet
drink often, electrolytes are important. Make sure you bring at least one bottle of your favorite mix. Mine is Skratch Labs lemon & lime
Eat plenty of carbs to keep you fueled for the finish. A sugary snack can also provide a much needed pick me up after some long miles. I like Skittles and coke.
Be safe out here and enjoy the ride! đ
